Euclid Herie : Leadership Award & Assistive Technology Scholarship

Named for CNIB’s President Emeritus, these awards honour Dr. Herie’s distinguished career which culminated in a 17-year term as the organization’s President and CEO and a six-year term as President of the World Blind Union.

Dr. Herie’s legacy as a role model and spokesperson for people with vision loss is brought to life by his credo, “It’s respectable to be blind!” and through CNIB’s focus on living well with vision loss. For full details, visit one of the links below:

Katherine Jones Staff Service Award

Established in 2004 by CNIB AB/NWT, the Katherine Jones Staff Service Award honours the Division's first rehabilitation teacher.

This award is presented annually to a CNIB employee or former employee to recognize a distinguished and valued career with demonstrated leadership and outstanding commitment to people with vision loss in Alberta and NWT.

W. Boyd McFetridge Distinguished Volunteer Award

Recognizing 30 years of volunteer service to CNIB AB/NWT, the W. Boyd McFetridge Distinguished Volunteer Award was established in 2004.

This award commemorates Boyd's lifelong commitment to CNIB and to people who are deafblind or living with vision loss in Alberta and NWT.
