Programs and Activities
CNIB is active in every region of Canada, with staff and volunteers working in offices in Alberta and Northwest Territories, and often traveling to provide support to people in their homes and in rural communities.

What’s New:
- Weekend in the Woods
CNIB Youth Leadership Retreat
- It’s a leadership development retreat for young blind and partially sighted Albertans at a camp in the beautiful Bragg Creek area! Improve your communication skills, orientation and mobility skills, challenge yourself to try new things and make new friends.
- This two-night get-away is open to youth between the ages of 13 and 20 who are blind, partially sighted or deafblind, and are independent in their self-care.

- CNIB applauds Alberta government approval of new treatment for leading cause of vision loss
CNIB congratulates the Alberta government for the recent decision to include Lucentis, a groundbreaking treatment for wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD), under the provincial drug benefit list. The decision means Lucentis is now covered by provincial supplemental health plans. Read the full release here

For Albertans in need of a helpful product or technical device for use at home. Deadlines for application to the STEP program are May 31, September 30 and January 15
