Lake Joe hosted the annual CNIB Lions Appreciation Day on Saturday, September 27. Lions from across Ontario attended this event celebrating the tremendous contribution from the Lions to Lake Joe.
Highlights of the day included pontoon boat tours of the lake, delicious BBQ and inspiring words from Lake Joe Executive Director, Shari Lovelock and Camp Manager, Jacqueline Harrison. The Lake Joe team also unveiled the new Knight of Lake Joe pin and revitalized Knights of Lake Joe Award. To cap off the day, the Lions of Multiple District ‘A’ and various Lions Clubs generously donated $19,800 to Lake Jo.
In the evening, the Blooze Brothers and Dooley Sisters, from the Sauble Beach and District Lions Club entertained the audience with an hour long, high energy performance of song and dance. The evening ended with the Lake Joe staff from past and present leading a sing-a-long by the camp fire.
The Lions continuous support of Lake Jo warrants a thank you but also a big “roar” of appreciation from Lake Joe. Their ongoing support for Lake Jo continues to provide memorable camping experiences to hundreds of children, youth, families and adults living with vision loss each year.
