Volunteer Opportunities

Located in the heart of Muskoka, CNIB’s Lake Joseph Centre (commonly referred to Lake Joe) provides a unique blend of recreation and vision rehabilitation in a safe, inclusive environment. There, a wide range of summer programs are available to people of all ages with varying degrees of vision loss.

Who Attends Lake Joe

  • Adults
  • Youth
  • Families

Volunteer Opportunities - How You Can Help

  • Facilitate land programs for guests (bocce, crafts, basketball, etc.)
  • Support guests with waterfront programming (tubing, swimming, paddleboats, sailing, canoeing, etc.)
  • Support guests in the dining hall
  • Support guests with offsite programming
  • Support staff with guest transportation to and from camp

Volunteer  Expectations

  • Minimum of one week onsite at Lake Joe/remain onsite for duration of stay
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Must provide a current Police Record Check before arrival.
  • Must provide a current certificate of standard First Aid, and CPR “C” is an asset
  • Shared accommodations with another staff member/volunteer
  • Shared washroom with cabin staff members/volunteers
