HumanWare Work Placement Opportunity

Overview:

HumanWare, a world leader in digital audio book solutions for readers with vision loss or a print disability, is offering a six-month work placement to a graduate student.

This award is presented in conjunction with the Walter and Wayne Gretzky Scholarship Foundation, which was established in 1996 in honour of the family’s outstanding commitment to helping young Canadians with vision loss to pursue their academic and lifelong dreams.

Work Placement:

HumanWare is offering a six-month work placement opportunity in their Montreal office to a graduate student.

Eligibility:

A strong interest in technology is beneficial but not essential for consideration of this placement.

The recipient must be willing to live and work in Montreal during the six month placement and will be responsible for arranging his/her own accommodation and transportation.

Candidates must be:

  • Blind or living with vision loss;
  • A graduate from a university or community college;
  • A Canadian citizen or have held landed immigrant status for one year prior to the date of application.

Placement is awarded on the basis of academic excellence and service to the community.

Please send a covering letter outlining your university experience, community involvement and briefly describing your opinion about trends and future values in technology along with a recent resume, to the address below by April 30.
