The F.J.L. Woodcock/Sir Arthur Pearson Association of War Blinded Scholarship Program is administered with the assistance of CNIB. All application forms must be received by April 30, by mail, fax or in electronic format.

Scholarships

The Board of Directors of the Foundation will be awarding the scholarships based on the Foundation’s financial report for the previous year. Priority consideration will be given to students graduating from secondary school in the current year and entering a post-secondary education program. Students continuing studies in subsequent years will be given consideration based on availability of funds.

Eligibility

Students who have not more than 20/70 vision after corrections, and who are continuing either their vocational or academic education at the post-secondary level are eligible to apply for a F.J.L. Woodcock/Sir Arthur Pearson Association of War Blinded Scholarship. Students should have a high degree of motivation, a reasonable level of achievement, and find the scholarship of assistance.

To be considered eligible for the Scholarship Program students must submit the following documentation no later than April 30:

  • A completed Application Form

  • At least one letter of reference from a teacher or school official;

  • An indication of graduation from a secondary education program in the previous year; and

  • A covering letter of 250-300 words, by the applicant describing the applicant’s hobbies and interests, study plans and future goals.
