Manager, Retail Gaming – Atlantic Canada
Halifax, Nova Scotia
CNIB in Atlantic Canada, under an agreement with the Atlantic Lottery Corporation, will oversee the operation of retail lottery kiosks in locations in the Atlantic Provinces. This position is responsible for the management and administration of the field operations of this regional program. The position coordinates all retail gaming activities of the program to maximize net revenue to support the services and programs delivered by CNIB in Atlantic Canada under guidelines of CNIB and the Atlantic Lottery Corporation Inc. (ALC) Lottery Ticket Operator Agreement and Policies Manual .
Essential Duties entail (but not limited to):
Manages the day to day business activities of the Atlantic Canada CNIB Retail Lottery program.
Recruits and trains qualified Independent Contractors to operate the Atlantic Canada CNIB Lottery Centres in the Wal-Mart stores and regional Shopping Centres.
Ensures that the Independent Contractors are adhering to guidelines and policies set by ALC, CNIB and the Landlords.
Monitors to ensure that all IndependentContractors are in compliance with the rules, regulations and Terms and Conditions of the ALC.
Communicates on a weekly basis with the lottery kiosk Independent Contractors and their staff.
Works collaboratively with the CNIB National Social Gaming team in the creation and development of the Contractor Manual for retail lottery operations across Canada.
Monitors and maintains both the electronic and print files.
Provides exceptional customer service to vendors, IndependentContractors, volunteers and staff.
Prepares internal collection reports and operating statements for the National Director, Social Gaming.
Ensures that the Independent Contractors are adhering to the guidelines and policies set by Atlantic Lottery Corporation (ALC), CNIB and Wal-Mart Canada Corp.
Manages the financial reporting process; the reconciliation of the financial statements to invoices and inventory; maintaining a detailed filing system and all internal controls.
Compiles data for gaming financial reports (income and expenses) on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis for internal use and for requisite independent audits in a timely manner.
Reconciles revenues generated by ALC activities into the Division Gaming account on a monthly basis in conjunction with the CNIB Finance Department.
Monitors the ALC Bank Trust Account for daily activities and monthly reconciliation to ensure accurate cash flow.
Reports all unresolved field audits and cursory audits to the Manager, Gaming.
Prepares internal collection reports and operating statements.
Compiles data for Gaming Financial reports (income and expenses) on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis for internal use and for requisite independent audits in a timely manner.
Reconciles the revenues generated by ALC activities.
Sales and Marketing
Develops and implements new marketing strategies and packages for retail sale development.
In collaboration with the National Director, Social Gaming and the ALC, participates in the development of site merchandising standards.
Manages the promotion of the products sold at the retail level to increase the gross sales of the Atlantic Canada CNIB Retail Lottery program .
Strategy and Planning
Works with the National Director, Social Gaming to develop the corporate initiatives for the Atlantic Canada CNIB Lottery Centres retail lottery program.
Prepares the annual budgets and financial reporting statements.
Recommends and implements best practices to enhance the success of the ALC retail lottery business.
Distributes the CNIB information packages including annual budget, profit and loss statements to the appropriate executive and governmental agencies in a timely manner.

Qualifications: (Education, Training, Experience):
Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or Administrative studies.
5 years of previous experience managing a team of people focused on providing exemplary service.
Preference for candidates with gaming or ALC experience.
Well-developed interpersonal and communications skills.
Proficient in various computer applications such as: electronic file organization and maintenance; Microsoft Office Suite, database management and Internet research capabilities.
Valid drivers’ license.
