If your interested in learning how to play the guitar or or ukulele, or even just advance your skills, these lessons are here for you! Each lesson will be 30 minutes. You are welcome to bring your own guitar/ukulele, and one will be available if needed.

This Adjustment to Vision Loss (AVL) Discussion Series keeps the interactive conversation going. In a safe and confidential, peer led, (virtual) space, people with sight loss can drop in to explore, contribute, and understand the many emotions and losses associated with sight loss, and build self-confidence for leading a meaningful and independent life. Second Monday of every month from 1 to 3 p.m. Eastern Time on Zoom.
These three consecutive mini- workshop are designed to provide mindfulness tools and peer support for people adjusting to sight loss, and those who are dealing with symptoms of Charles Bonnet Syndrome. Accessible yoga for most skill levels from the comfort of your home. Check out accessible yoga if you are looking for a classic yoga class with descriptive prompts. Designed for people with vision loss, the instructor will verbally walk you through all the poses and movements. Please bring a yoga mat, a bottle of water, and your breath! Ottawa Youth are invited to participate in our bi-monthly skateboard program. This program is open to participants ages 8 and up. Parents are encouraged to stay and watch, or you may drop-off if need be. Boards and helmets will be provided, however you may wish to purchase additional padding. There is a maximum of 8 spaces available and you must register in advance. Ottawa Youth Skateboarding will meet every other Monday (beginning May 13) from 6 to 7:30 p.m. We will meet at the Ottawa Hub and head over to the skatepark for our group lesson.

For people with vision loss, assistive technology offers all of this as well as a great deal of independence. Join us over Zoom for Intro to Assistive Technology to get a chance to see what is possible and how we at CNIB can help you learn how to harness the power of assistive technology. Chair yoga is a good option for anyone with injuries or with mobility issues. You will need comfortable clothing and a sturdy chair without arms or armrests for this class. Techniques include breath work, gentle movement with repetition, postures, sitting meditation and relaxation. No experience required. Adjustment to Vision Loss Intro program is for people who are new to sight loss and are seeking a supportive and safe environment for discussion with peers in similar situations. This program is led by facilitators with lived experience of sight loss. This peer support group meets four consecutive Wednesdays (June 5 to June 26) from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Eastern Time on Zoom. A commitment to the four week series is required as this is not a drop in program.
